Your used Portage version is very crappy old, right?!
Assuming dupe. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 114798 ***
Hi Carlo, * sys-apps/portage Latest version available: 2.1.3.19 Latest version installed: 2.0.51.19 I am not sure if that is crappy old... perhaps. Sorry if that bug was just a duplicate. I shall read thru the other bug report to check for the solution to this issue. Regards, Ricahrd B.
(In reply to comment #3) > I am not sure if that is crappy old... perhaps. Unfortunately, yes. Gentoo is a distribution following the "rolling updates" mantra, which means you should update regularly - at least every three months or so. Version 2.0.51.19 was marked stable 2 years and ten months ago and has been been removed from the tree two years ago. If this is a sign of your general "maintenance level" you're probably better off doing a complete reinstall, btw.. > I shall read thru the other bug report to check for the solution to this issue. Yes, it's all in there, when you want to update the existing system.
