Description Joshua Jackson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-14 19:07:34 UTC
ooffice-bin seems to be looking for the 32bit version of a module/library from bug-buddy.

while attempting to start up ooffice bin from an amd64 system I get the following error.

Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "gnomebreakpad": libgnomebreakpad.so: cannot open shared object file:

equery belongs libgnomebreakpad.so
gnome-extra/bug-buddy-2.20.1 (/usr/lib64/gtk-2.0/modules/libgnomebreakpad.so)

As its a 32bit its won't look at that directory for the file. There is a libgnomebreakpad.so in /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules as well but again its not able to be used for openoffice.

There's really no easy solution to this as far as I can see...as a emul lib just for this would quite honestly be silly.

Reproducible: Always

Actual Results:
emerge openoffice-bin-2.3.1
attempt to start ooffice and see the error.

Expected Results:
I think we all know what the expected result is.

You must have some gtk misconfiguration somewhere, works perfectly fine here without calling such junk.
Comment 2 Daniel Gryniewicz (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-12-22 16:47:19 UTC
You can ignore the libgnomebreakpad issue. It's just a warning, and causes no actual problems.

What's the actual problem here?

I'm seeing the same thing with acroread-8.1.2 (but not acroread-7.0.9-r1) as well as with openoffice-2.3.1 on my x86 bit system but I'm not seeing it on my amd64 system. I've been ignoring it, but am tidying up a few things now. Will try and track it down a bit more ...
