In "Mounting a Windows or Samba share in GNU/Linux" it says "Note: Don't forget to first emerge samba on the client(s) that will be accessing the shares." Alternatively meanwhile net-fs/mount-cifs can be emerged to access shares, so please update the guide.
please stabilize mount-cifs on all arches first, then reopen this bug and we'll add it.
