coldsync (http://www.coldsync.org/) is a program for syncing palm devices that's a lot more flexible and "unixy" than pilot-link. It's got a perl interface for writing conduits and is easy to configure. I'd suggest either app-misc/coldsync or dev-libs/coldsync since that's where jpilot and pilot-link currently are.
uh, i just tried attaching the ebuild, but got an error saying that no file was attached or it was empty. got the same error both with mozilla and netscape 4.78. the file definitely isn't empty. it's available at http://www.europa.com/~jdm/coldsync-2.2.5.ebuild
jdm, do we need ebuilds for the conduits as well? http://www.coldsync.org/conduits/ If so, they require the p5-palm perl module. If they do, would you write up an ebuild (or does it need to be several?) as well?
coldsync itself doesn't require the conduits or p5-palm. they'll have a depedency on coldsync though. all of them require the user to edit their .coldsyncrc in order to configure them, and some require a little tweaking to get them to do what you want. i'll write up an ebuild for the p5-palm perl modules and look at making one for some of the conduits.
Hmmm, somehow I completely missed this one. Sorry about that! In any event, it's been in portage since the end of May.
