Hello, The machine is running Gnome 2.18 and people login through gdm. The languages selected are english, french and swedish, this being chosen with gdm by every single user. Gnome handles flawlessly the 3 languages, firefox (2.0.0.9) does not... I specified the LINGUAS in make.conf : LINGUAS="fr sv en en_US en_GB" and the mozilla-firefox flags are the following: [ebuild R ] www-client/mozilla-firefox-2.0.0.9 USE="gnome ipv6 java -bindist -debug -filepicker -mozdevelop -moznopango -restrict-javascript -xforms -xinerama -xprint" LINGUAS="en_GB fr sv -af -ar -be -bg -ca -cs -da -de -el -es -es_AR -es_ES -eu -fi -fy -fy_NL -ga -ga_IE -gu -gu_IN -he -hu -it -ja -ka -ko -ku -lt -mk -mn -nb -nb_NO -nl -nn -nn_NO -pa -pa_IN -pl -pt -pt_BR -pt_PT -ro -ru -sk -sl -sv_SE -tr -zh -zh_CN -zh_TW" 0 kB Whichever language selected via gdm I end up with firefox in french!!!! I suppose this can be solved by setting some configuration variable in some cryptic user configuration file but I _do_ consider that by now (2007), this kind of things should be handled transparently and smoothly... No one wants to dig and fix by hand these kind of things.... So, for me, this is a bug... Daniel Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. set LINGUAS="fr sv en en_US en_GB" in make.conf 2. rebuild mozilla-firefox 3. start Gnome in english or swedish (select the language via gdm) Actual Results: 4. Enjoy Firefox in french with an environment in swedish or english... Expected Results: Firefox in the right language, without any particular tweaking.
Firefox uses whatever is first in your LINGUAS... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 182175 ***
