The gnome-wm script uses gtk-window-decorator (hard coded) as a decorator plugin for the compiz window manager. With compiz-fusion around these days, the decorator should probably be customisable, through an environment variable perhaps ? It is easy enough to edit the script as a workaround, until the next upgrade of course. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:

This is actually ours, and comes from gnome-session... Valid bug
Hanno, what is the situation with decorators in a Compiz Fusion world and what would you propose for handling this in gnome-wm? For reference, gnome-session ships /usr/bin/gnome-wm as a shell wrapper that launches the window manager in a session, based on the WINDOW_MANAGER environment variable. So WINDOW_MANAGER=compiz somewhere would start Gnome with compiz for example. Should the decorator be customizable as well, or should there be more new WINDOW_MANAGER options?
i did this with gconf /apps/compiz/plugins/decoration/allscreens/options/command = gtk-window-decorator
I just added compiz-0.8.2-r1 to the tree (including a compiz.desktop file) and fusion-icon lets users switch between window-decorators. Anything else we can do here?

Then let's close it :)
