(There is no longer a source tarball available. We will probably need to take the same approach as we do with "net-analyzer/nessus-bin" and the OpenSUSE RPM.) Tenable Network Security is proud to announce the availability of the GA (general availability) version of NessusClient 3. NessusClient is a new graphical user interface which is unified across Mac OS X, Linux and Windows. The key features of this product are : - Real-time results. No need to wait until the end of a scan to start analyzing the findings of Nessus - Document based. Save your policies, scan results and scan targets into a single file - New XML based report format. The new '.nessus' file format saves into a single XML file your scan policies, scan targets and scan results - Multiple connections. NessusClient can connect to several scanners at the same time - Consistent interface. The same interface exists on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux This product can be downloaded from Nessus.org for Windows, Ubuntu Linux, Debian Linux, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 and 5, Fedora Core 6 and 7, and OpenSUSE 10.2. Attached is the ebuild i have been using in my overlay. I have had no issues so far.
Created attachment 135410 [details] nessus-client ebuild based on nessus-bin ebuild This ebuild was based on the nessus-bin one, and uses the rpm downloaded from nessus.org
Created attachment 135411 [details] addition to LD_PATH Put this in net-analyzer/nessus-client/files, it is the same as for nessus-bin
net-analyzer/nessus-client-3.0.1 has been released now. Any progress on getting this into portage? CHANGELOG: - Exporting a policy to the old .nessusrc format now generates a file which properly configures the port scanners and plugin preferences - On Windows, importing scan policies from NessusGUI.exe properly enables the plugins
We've added the ebuild to the sectools overlay at gentoo.o0o.nu Any further suggestions would be much appreciated.
Created attachment 153185 [details] nessus-client-3.2.0.ebuild Guys, This ebuild installs fine, but when I try to run NessusClient, I get: /opt/nessus/bin/NessusClient: /usr/lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.2/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.9' not found (required by /opt/nessus/bin/NessusClient) Anybody got it working? Cheers, Marcelo
Please try this version instead: http://gentoo.o0o.nu/portage/net-analyzer/nessus-client/nessus-client-3.2.0-r1.ebuild It's based on Red Hat rpm and it might work for you.
Anton, my ebuild is already based on that one... ;-)
> Anton, my ebuild is already based on that one... ;-) I'm not sure about that. The attached ebuild looks very different. You are using MY_P="NessusClient-${PV}-suse10.3.i586" and don't support amd64, if I'm not wrong. ps. I've added >=x11-libs/gtk+-2.8.8 to rdepend from your ebuild. Do we need to have "xorg-server" in this case? pss. Just FYI: Tenable changes plugin subscription model in Jun.
(In reply to comment #9) > pss. Just FYI: Tenable changes plugin subscription model in Jun. I've read their announcement and I think this does not affects our packages. Is this correct or do I miss something?
Upstream package not available anymore, web frontend intergrated in nessus-bin
