Description Justin Yackoski 2002-04-19 15:36:40 UTC
Since attaching files isn't working, you can also get this ebuild script at
http://skiingyac.dhs.org/projects/rdiff-backup-0.6.0.ebuild

Rdiff-backup is similar to rsync in that it does file synchronization over a
network. It also allows you to keep incremental diffs between files and
directories and has fancy command line options which let you recover any of
those revisions. It is written in python and in my experience is superior to
rsync for reliable backup purposes because it does not have the pesky undepected
EOF in read_timeout errors.

It requires librsync (see bug #1941 for ebuild) and python > 2.2. I suggest
net-misc/rdiff-backup for a category/name.

Thanks again,
Justin
