The 2007.0 GUI installer creates /etc/fstab with /dev/ROOT instead of /dev/hda1. However, even if the partition is ext2 or ext3, it does not create the label, so the mount fails on the next reboot. The handbook apparently uses /dev/ROOT in the example description of fstab, but it does say to replace with the correct partition reference. The installer should either put the labels on the partition or not use labels in fstab. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use GUI installer 2. 3. Actual Results: failure on next boot with message about bad superblock - very confusing to newbies. Even worse, at that point the root fs is mounted ro, so you have to remount rw or reboot back to CD to edit fstab. Expected Results: Successful boot. I'm not sure why this hasn't been reported already, unless either folks either know how to fix it or can't figure out (or don't care to) file the bug.
