I want Audigy2 support from the Sourceforge.net CVS! I've been using it for
months now, and it works great.

Reproducible: Always

if you're suggesting we make a cvs ebuild for this then i dont think you'll find anyone to make/support it ... ive been maintaining the ebuild for the most part and 0.20a is the last stable release ...

I am. Or a "CVS-snapshot" ebuild. Because there must be many more like me out there with a Audigy2 card, and no way of knowing that it's supported under Gentoo. Perhaps you could just point out in the Changelog that that "Audigy2 support can be obtained by using the CVS-source from http://sourceforge.net/projects/emu10k1".

media-sound/emu10k1-cvs-16042003.ebuild

im happy enough to support this for now.
at least to the degree possible with it being CVS.

its basically the same as emu10k1, same fixes included.
i currently have it working over 7 speakers, all spot on with tone control.

the defaultemu10k1.conf should handle that fine :)
Comment 4 John Mylchreest (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-16 17:34:35 UTC
can i please note that until im told further, this isnt official gentoo.
please place it in /usr/local/portage and I shall update changelogs and things if it is chosen to enter the tree.
