As seen on the homepage of xcut (xcut.sf.net): "Development on xcut has ceased. Please use the fine xclip program instead.". Also "xcut -p" can only print something which is inserted into the buffer by "xcut" and not the normal X buffer (where text gets inserted by marking it with the mouse). An "equery d xcut" only shows up app-text/nopaste -- which (nativly) can use xclip as an alternative. Thus I would ask to remove it - or is there some reason to keep it here like the "it does not harm - so why remove?"-policy?
package.mask'ed, removal in 30 days: # Krzysiek Pawlik <nelchael@gentoo.org> (15 Oct 2007) # Copying does't work, use xclip instead, see bug #191553 x11-misc/xcut
Removed from portage.
