I have www-apps/mythweb installed which is shown in the pkg database as...

/var/db/pkg/www-apps/mythweb-0.20.1_p14146

Now doing an emerge -puD shows this...

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating world dependencies... done!
[ebuild  NS   ] www-apps/mythweb-0.20.1_p14269  USE="-vhosts" 

And it leaves the older p14146 installed in the database, yet obviously the new install overwrites all the files.

Surely this should show as "U" for upgrading this package ?

Nothing we could do about this, that's how webapp.eclass works.
