Description Andreas Stangl 2007-08-11 12:05:10 UTC
VLC won't play videos anymore. Found via forum.gentoo.org this issue might be caused by ffmpeg. Sound is beeing played normally.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a video file with vlc
2. the console will show the output like shown in the description of this bug
3. wonder why vlc does not show you video file

$ vlc <path to some xvid file>
VLC media player 0.8.6c Janus
[00000295] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `XVID'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format
