Description J. Nichols 2003-04-05 22:14:28 UTC
Check out the url I provided. Basically, when I run 'emerge sudo' it fails with a compile
error. I 'emerge rsync' then tried to emerge sude again, but now luck.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge rsync
2. emerge sudo
3.

Actual Results:
The compile crashed part of the way through the ebuild.

Expected Results:
The compile successfully completed.

theroy root # emerge info

hmm, can you do this instead (for a better log):

emerge sudo &> log

Ignore the distcc errors, one of my compile helpers was down when I ran this.

which version of linux-headers have you got?
Comment 5 J. Nichols 2003-04-07 13:00:39 UTC
sys-kernel/linux-headers == v2.4.19
Comment 6 Alastair Tse (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-04-07 18:49:50 UTC
you've got a rather old glibc, the threads stuff is from glibc. did you just recently upgrade to 1.4 profile or have you just resisted the change to glibc-2.3.1 ?
Comment 7 J. Nichols 2003-04-08 14:32:00 UTC
Running:

emerge rsync
emerge glibc
emerge sudo

Compiles succesfully. The box was running an old version of Gentoo when it was decommissioned last October. It was ressurected and in the process of being updated, so it was running like Gentoo 1.2 or something.

thanks for that. its interesting that sudo doesn't compile on glibc-2.2.x, but i think all the profiles should be moved to 2.3.x now.
