Description David Carlos Manuelda 2007-08-10 16:33:03 UTC
I did a sync, and updated system deeply (--update --deep), it updated libexpat and BROKE all my system. In the bottom of this, it appears that I need to do an revdep rebuild, but it was obscured by next emerge.

I suggest halting update and suggest this revdep rebuild, because I couldn't start dbus, X nor anything, and it drove me crazy for a couple of time.

What about modifyng expat ebuild and halting all other remaining merges? That could avoid confusions and scares.

Reproducible: Always

Not possible, and wouldn't be done even if it was possible. The ebuild tells you to run revdep-rebuild, so do it. Plus portage has ELOG features, use them.
