When emerging Rhythmbox with the +howl use flag set The emerge net-misc/howl fails due to  inproper use of the preserve_old_lib().  

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge net-misc/howl
2.
3.

Actual Results:  
Emerge fails with above mentioned error.

Expected Results:  
Emerge succeeds.

I have seen that howl has a bug requesting removal from the portage tree (<a href="http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=183776">183776</a>).  Doing my research on this bug leads me to second the afformentioned bug report.  Remove the Howl use flag, as it is deprecated, and replaced by avahi.

This is fixed in 1.0.0 only (and yeah, this thing is going away, it's dead).
