Description MickKi 2007-07-07 08:50:21 UTC
Hi,

I noticed that wine no longer creates menu entries either for itself or for .exe apps in KDE and others reported that this is also the case with GNOME. I have also noticed that clicking on .exe files in Konqueror will not run them (in wine). No such problem from the command line as long as the path to the .exe is passed on to the wine command.

When installing wine I got this when the menu entry failed to be generated:
===============================================
err:menubuilder:InvokeShellLinker failed to fork and exec wineshelllink
===============================================

Please ask for more info if needed.

Reproducible: Always

That's intended, see Bug 117785.

Thanks Jakub, I understand that bug 117785 relates to running MS Windows executables with wine, but does it affect the creation of KDE menu entries too?
