Description Denilson Sá Maia 2007-07-03 10:31:50 UTC
I have a "stable" x86 Gentoo system and I've just emerged wengophone-bin-2.1.0 (first added to packages.keywords), but sound does not work.

How to reproduce:
1. emerge wengophone-bin
2. Run wengophone
3. Press Cancel on wengophone account wizard.
4. Go to Tools -> Configuration
5. Select Notification & Sounds panel
6. Press Play button

Expected results:
Sound should have been played.

Actual results:
ALSA lib pcm.c:2106:(snd_pcm_open_conf) Cannot open shared library /usr/lib/alsa-lib/libasound_module_pcm_empty.so
(warn) 07:23:57 snd_pcm_t* alsa_open(int, unsigned int, int): cannot open audio device default: No such file or directory
(warn) 07:23:57 void alsa_play_file(const char*, int*): can't open alsa device

I found some other guys had the same problem:
http://forum.wengophone.com/viewtopic.php?p=28215
The quick and easy solution is to delete /opt/wengophone/libasound.so.2 file, so wengophone will use system's alsa-lib instead of shipped library.

This solution works for me.
