Description Tobias Klausmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-15 09:52:33 UTC
I just updated to 2.1.3_rc1 on two different machines. They both bomb on every emerge like this (it seems to be independent of the package emerged):

>>> Original instance of package unmerged safely.
 * If you don't have a makewhatis cronjob, then you
 * should update the whatis database yourself:
 *  # makewhatis -u
>>> sys-apps/man-pages-2.56 merged.

>>> No packages selected for removal by clean
>>> Auto-cleaning packages...

>>> No outdated packages were found on your system.
 * GNU info directory index is up-to-date.

As it seems to only affect restoring the exterm title after actually doing the merging, this may seem low-priority. It's nasty, nevertheless.
Comment 1 Zac Medico gentoo-dev 2007-06-15 10:54:24 UTC
Thanks, this is fixed in 2.1.3_rc2. I thought I had tested this case but apparently I didn't have PROMPT_COMMAND exported. This fixes it:

sed -i "s/fdpipes=/fd_pipes=/" /usr/lib/portage/pym/output.py
Comment 2 Tobias Klausmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-06-15 11:35:36 UTC
Yup, just installed rc2, works fine for me.

Thanks.
