when you open a picture and use any tool on it, gimp crashes, but it doesnt crash when you simply click on the image and dont move the tool. i tested it with gimp-2.2.14 and gimp-2.3.16. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. start gimp, open image 2. select any tool 3. press the left mouse button and move around the image Actual Results: gimp crashes: rul0r@eiswyrfel ~ $ gimp --sync This is a development version of GIMP. Debug messages may appear here. The program 'gimp' received an X Window System error. This probably reflects a bug in the program. The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'. (Details: serial 54460 error_code 3 request_code 39 minor_code 0) (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously; that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it. To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) rul0r@eiswyrfel ~ $ (script-fu:4376): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: wire_read(): error as this seems to be an x.org or gtk-related bug, here some versions i used: xorg-server 1.3.0.0 gtk+ 2.10.12 glib 2.12.12
