Looking in the ebuild, there seems to be a comment saying it supports gold, but no test case for the gold pack. 

Files It Tests for not on disk 1 of gold.

Steps to Reproduce:
mount /mnt/cdrom

sudo emerge -vat nwn-data

press your any key.
