Tried to re-emerge the alsa-lib package => no go.
Found this in /usr/lib/libasound.la: 'libdir=/var/tmp/portage/alsa-lib-
0.9_rc6/image//usr/lib'... Fixed it to '/usr/lib'.
Tried to re-emerge kdelibs. The emerge did go a bit farther but it failed with 
the same error.

Reproducible: Didn't try
Steps to Reproduce:



Expected Results:  
emerge success;

cannot paste 'emerge info' here; using windows now, since no browser in my 
actual gentoo system (in the state it is for now).

As a temporary fix, I had to create a symlink to /usr/lib/libasound.la in 
/var/tmp/portage/alsa-lib-0.9.0_rc6/image/usr/lib. 
 
This fixed the kdelibs compile, but IMHO it's not the best solution.
