Updating package sys-apps/coreutils to version 6.7-r1, moves the command "id" from  /bin/id to /usr/bin/id. This causes some scripts to be unable to verify whether the current user is root or not.
RESOLUTION: Create a link to the new location of the "id" file
ln -s /usr/bin/id /bin/id

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login as root
2. Try to establish pppoe connection by running pppoe-start
