Description Johannes Wienke 2007-03-13 20:21:08 UTC
Launching a completely new installed kdar crashes Xorg. kdar begins with the guide to select a folder. After clicking OK a small black screen appears with the copyright-notice an the whole system is blocked. No action is possible anymore. Only restarting X via ssh works.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. start kdar without an existing profile
2. select the default folder for images
3. click ok

Actual Results:
small black screen with copyright notices appears and the whole X and keyboard is blocked. Only a login via ssh works.

Expected Results:
kdar goes on with the configuration

Not KDE.
Comment 2 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-13 20:34:23 UTC
emerge --info and xorg-server version perhaps? Plus, anything relevant in the logs?
Comment 3 Johannes Wienke 2007-03-13 20:40:35 UTC
xorg is 1.1.1-r4.

Comment 4 Johannes Wienke 2007-03-17 18:10:32 UTC
I'm sorry, I've noticed that this isn't a bug in kdar. It was a problem with the nvidia drivers and kdar was the first programm I used that invoked this problem.
Comment 5 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-17 21:16:27 UTC
Hmmm well, sorry but there's nothing we could do about nVidia drivers, you'll need to take this upstream. Thanks for reporting back.
