The Lightweight Java Game Library (LWJGL)
We have a beta version here but 1.0 has been released.
"LWJGL 1.0 released! Sunday, February 4th, 2007
Finally, after several years of development we finally decided that we're good to go with 1.0!. Please check this thread for more info regarding the release."
*** Bug 239740 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
This package needs to be added to the main tree in order to support games-strategy/tribaltrouble also (see bug 87472).
I've had this in java-overlay for Minecraft for a while now. It works well.
The title of this bug is wrong: it should say "lwjgl" instead of "lwgjl". Can someone with the appropriate permissions fix it so that it shows up in searches?
I notice that dev-java/lwjgl-2.9.0 in java overlay CDEPENDS on dev-java/asm:3.999 slot. In portage tree, dev-java/asm 4.0 and 5.0.3 were stabilized. Moreover, dev-java/lwjgl-2.9.3 has been released⁽¹⁾.
Could someone please check the dependency on dev-java/asm package and eventually bump the ebuild ? Thanks.
The java overlay contains some really really old stuff which haven't been maintained in YEARS. I wouldn't recommend using it.

This is required by Minecraft and isn't quite so outdated. I haven't checked the latest v2 release but it required a specific pre-release of ASM for several versions, which was annoying. If this is still the case and I can't patch around it then this pre-release will have to go into the tree along with LWJGL when I get around to it.
