The Nessus packages included in portage are out of date. Specifically, the "stable" package, 2.2.6, is 3 14 months and 3 versions old. The only alternative, 2.3.1, is from an experimental branch that has since been discontinued (it became version 3.0, which is not closed source). The latest open source release is version 2.2.9. I recommend bumping the Nessus packages to 2.2.9 and removing the older, unsupported 2.2.6. I also recommend removing version 2.3.1, as this was never officially supported and is now completely deprecated. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
Done! 2.2.9 in cvs, 2.3.1 in package.mask pending removal. Cheers
Well, this is simply not true. The new version 2.2.11 has been released recentry. It can be downloaded from the official web site: http://www.nessus.org/download/ The ebuild can be found in sectools overlay: http://gentoo.o0o.nu/portage/net-analyzer/nessus/nessus-2.2.11.ebuild See bug #210006 for details. Marcelo, please verify it. Jared, please reopen the bug or explain why you think so.
OOOOPS. I mess up. So sorry. Please ignore the message above.
