Description bedo 2007-02-25 21:36:02 UTC
please consider adding klik client ebuild to portage.

    * An easy way to download and run software -- without installing it
    * 1 File = 1 Application
    * Safe to use -- it never interferes with your existing system
    * An easy way to distribute applications
    * Able to run in user space without root/sudo

klik does not replace portage, but makes it easy to test a new application w/o installing it.

you can find more about klik here

Reproducible: Always

not a dupe ... ebuild != livecd
Comment 3 Markus Ullmann (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-09-14 14:19:31 UTC
seems this request hasn't turned into an ebuild yet. If you want to help with it, it's not that hard to write one:

If you need further help, feel free to ask on forums or #gentoo-dev-help or #gentoo-sunrise on irc (latter is also useful if you want to maintain the app yourself)

note: we're not turning you down for this request in any way, it's just that we don't have ressources to fix all of them. though if you're willing to help, it would be more than nice to do so, as that is what we definately need :)

klik install script (to be run as user)
Comment 5 Arne Babenhauserheide 2009-08-01 13:08:41 UTC
It looks like the klik install script currently depends on being run by the user who wants to use klik.

I'll attach the script (it's what we get when we use the "install method" on the website).
