The atom code may need to be updated to handle this. 

I would for sure not call qlist broken. portage went and changed the way atoms work.

Uhm... It's been that way since 2.1 release, dunno what's the spanky's bug about :)

I don't see this with alsa, but since a few days this behaviour appears with mplayer:

Yeah the old alsa version is out of the tree. This will trigger on fluxbox also and any pkgs which use the new behavior of atoms.

This will remain un-parsable in all q* applets with multiple suffixes 
till vapier gets around to adding support for new style atom exploding/imploding.

This is fixed in the stable 0.1.29 version.
