emerge died at the following error

checking for pcre-config... /usr/bin/pcre-config
checking for libpcrecpp... no
configure: error: Could not find the PCRE C++ library

this was rectified by upgrading dev-libs/libpcre to 7.0, which isn't correctly specified in the ebuild. It could also be working with a lower version but wasn't working with version 4.5 (which is what I had earlier). Kindly modify the ebuild to correct this :)
