Description gentoo 2003-02-28 01:21:16 UTC
When running mirrorselect (on 0.1 and on 0.2) it screw up the /etc/make.conf by
adding the dialog and control caracters IN the file instead of in the console.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge mirrorselect
2. mirrorselect
3.

Actual Results:
Need to manually clean /etc/make.conf to get back to normal.

Expected Results:
Working nicely ;-)

This doesn't really look like a dup' of 16315, which latter doesn't seem to address the control characters problem. When I ran mirrorselect as instructed in the QuickInstall guide, it first gave an error about not finding "portageq", but then it went on to complete mangle my make.conf file. This using stage 2 of the latest 2004.2 universal live CD from ftp://gentoo.osuosl.org.
