Description Tiago Freire 2007-01-31 19:05:44 UTC
Background: After some update now samba is segfaulting on saving files, so I can't save anything on my server. Failing to pinpoint a proper solution (e.g. revdep-rebuild) I am on the gunshot approach trying to compile away the problem, as obscure broken dependencies had bugged me before...
My gunshot approach is to 'emerge -e samba', but it halted on sandbox.
I am on a amd64 machine, but it has support for 32 bit binaries.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge -e samba on amd64
2.sandbox x86 compile error
3.

Actual Results:
compilation failed

Expected Results:
sucessful emerge

emerge --info:

By the way, I have tried the

 * If configure fails with a 'cannot run C compiled programs' error, try this:
 * FEATURES=-sandbox emerge sandbox

But the problem persists.

Comment 4 Tiago Freire 2007-01-31 19:44:57 UTC
There is no eselect-compiler on my machine, and gcc-config-1.3 is installed.
Nevertheless, I have re-emerge gcc-config, but the problem persists.

gcc-config -l:
[1] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-4.1.1 *

I believe I have no cross-compiler. Maybe there SHOULD be a x86 compiler?
