This has been an issue for a while already but I haven't got to report it any earlier. The -wait option of xv does not work any more. As long as you use values below 1, the slide show will still work but without any delay. If you go to values >1, there will not be any slide show. I'm not sure if this is a Gentoo or an upstream issue but I can't compile the vanilla code to test it.
