xdelta files created under x86 can not be processed (xdelta patch ...) at amd64 arch. Discussion is here: http://bugs.donarmstrong.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=147187 To summarize, decision is to use this patch http://bugs.donarmstrong.com/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=147187;msg=58;filename=xdelta-1.1.3-allocbug.patch;att=1 from this rpm ftp://download.fedora.redhat.com/pub/fedora/linux/core/development/source/SRPMS/xdelta-1.1.3-20.src.rpm In my overlay have added this patch (xdelta-1.1.3-allocbug.patch) to existing patch set and was able to use kde-3.5.6 xdeltas (reporting from 3.5.6 :-) ) Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
just a note so we don't forget: if this bug gets fixed, we can unmask kdexdeltas: # 2005/06/04 - Simon Stelling <blubb@gentoo.org> # dev-util/xdelta doesn't work as expected by this use flag, it can only use # xdelta-files made on a 64bit system kdexdeltas
xdelta-1.1.3-r2 contains the patch; kdexdelta USE flag is unmasked
