I installed hal 0.5.7.1-r3 and used: dd if=/dev/dvd of=my.iso bs=2048 dd terminated with an IO error after about 10 seconds only copying about 6 megs. Trying several dvds and cds I found that I could no longer make images (it would copy between 3 and 100 megs total.) Reverted to 0.5.7-r3 and the problem went away. Reproducible: Didn't try Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install hal 0.5.7.1-r3 2. Use dd to copy a cd or dvd from your dvd drive 3. Go out and buy a new drive thinking your old one is busted only to find out that it's a software problem ;) Actual Results: dd would only copy between 3 and 100 megs from a dvd drive. This does not apply to hard drives. Expected Results: dd should have created a full iso
Used dd on the wrong drive. Okay, looks like this isn't the problem.
