Description Yarda 2007-01-16 15:37:12 UTC
sys-apps/logwatch-7.3.2 skips some services in report. I am using metalog with /var/log/messages symlink to /var/log/everything/current and shorewall. It seems that logwatch skips in report at least smartd, iptables and sshd services.

I have found that when I add:
elsif ($ThisLine =~ m/^... .. ..:..:.. \[$ServiceName\] /io) {
print $ThisLine;
}
to main loop in the file /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/shared/onlyservice

and when I comment the last line:
#*ApplyStdDate
in the file /usr/share/logwatch/default.conf/logfiles/messages.conf

it seems to work OK

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

I have also discovered, that the "ApplyStdDate" script seems to work OK with metalog, so no need to comment it.

And it also seems to incompatibility in "multiservice" script, so when the lines:
elsif ($ThisLine =~ m/^... .. ..:..:.. \[$ServiceName\]/i) {
  print $ThisLine;
}
are added to the for loop in the file /usr/share/logwatch/scripts/shared/multiservice at least the XNTPD service newly appears in the report

This version is no longer in the tree, does this still happen in newer versions?
