Just installed XFree86-4.2.1-r2 with KDE 3.1 on two machines and noticed, that the kdm_greet startup is really slow (takes about 30 secs to 1 min for the login-screen to show up). After the NVIDIA-splashscreen (GeForce in both machines) comes up, there's a long time nothing, just a grey background After re-emerging fontconfig 2.1, the problem was gone, the startup of kdm_greet is now as fast as I expected. I think, this should be considered a bug (that's easy to fix), but I have no idea what causes this behavior. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install XFree86-4.2.1-r2/KDE 3.1 2.
