Description Fernando J. Pereda (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-03 01:44:52 UTC
Hi arch fellows,

The 1.4.4 series have been maturing in the tree for more than a month now. Upstream is moving to 1.5.0 so the 1.4 series is only going to get ReallyNeeded(TM) fixes. We should get 1.4.4.3 stable since it has quite some features and fixes over the 1.4.1 series.

As always, Git comes with a very good testsuite so FEATURES="test" and let it work.

dev-util/git-1.4.4.4 came out a couple of days ago fixing a couple of potential bugs.

I was tempted to just copy the keywords given how little changes are but I finally decided not to :P As usual, please keyword dev-util/git-1.4.4.4 since .3 is vanishing from the tree.

With FEATURES=test, the build fails tests 1, 2, 5 and 6 in t9200-git-cvsexportcommit.sh for me. What is odd is that this also happens on a stable x86 system as well as on a system with a more recent, unstable version of cvs. Perhaps you should look into this.

Marked stable for HPPA anyway.

Yes, I also hit failed test on my laptop, which runs stable x86. All tests pass on my stable x86 server, though.

Laptop:
[ebuild U ] dev-util/git-1.4.4.4 [1.4.4.3] USE="bash-completion curl gtk -doc -emacs -mozsha1 (-ppcsha1) -tk -webdav" 0 kB

Server:
[ebuild R ] dev-util/git-1.4.4.4 USE="bash-completion -curl -doc -emacs -gtk -mozsha1 (-ppcsha1) -tk -webdav" 0 kB

Huh, tried emerging git on my laptop with USE="-gtk -curl" - OK.
Then with USE="-gtk" - OK.
Then with USE="-curl" - OK.
Then with original flags (this failed on test 9200 before) - OK.
Tried again, just for kicks - OK.

Pretty groovy. Have I unlocked a "succesful tests" bonus with above USEflag disabling combo, or what? :)
