please use g-cpan.pl instead (part of portage)

it will become native into portage soon anyway

do this:

g-cpan.pl GD:Graph3d

it should take you through CPAN's interactive set-up utility then proceed to create the ebuild into PORTDIR_OVERLAY and then install.

It worked just as you said, except:
        o  I had to use GD::Graph3d
        o  I did not get any ebuild file

I _did_ find the file in /var/db/pkg/dev-perl/GD-Graph3d though...
