Hi, it looks like jade 3.4.1 is out and there is only version 3.3 in portage :)
Their homepage does not seem to respond atm so can't get the source http://jade.cselt.it/ http://jade.tilab.com/
Seems it wants me to login: If someone feels like getting account, let me know.
Created attachment 123224 [details] Suggested Jade 3.5 manual download ebuild The current JADE homepage requires (registration and) logging in to get to thesource and then also presents a click-through acceptance page of the licence (LGPL). I just used a free ("junk/spam") email address to register and then downloaded the source. This ebuild is just the previous one with the manual source downloading tacked on. Testing was also minimal, I only tried it with USE="-doc -source" on an amd64 box, since that's all I needed. YMMV ;)
Why oh why do opensource projects do this kind of thing? Requiring authentication for download, I mean? It just seems so contrary to the ethic. Makes me want to fork their project just to liberate the source code. They're up to version 4.2.0 by the way. I haven't downloaded it.
They have removed the registration requirement for download but still have the LGPL acceptance click-through. Does that mean we can add it to the tree now?
