Description Art Green 2003-02-16 17:33:16 UTC
When trying to install Gentoo on a box with a network card that requires the
8139too driver, the driver may fail if the ACPI is used. The card works
correctly under RedHat and Windows.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Boot LiveCD
2.modprobe 8139too
3.configure eth0 correctly
4.Attempt to ping something.

Actual Results:
Logs will show multiple transmission failures with eth0. No traffic is seen on
the network from a sniffer.

Expected Results:
In the above example, traffic should be broadcast onto the network.

I think RedHat has patched the 8139too driver to correct this. This has also
been posted in several forums and newsgroups.

This now works correctly under 1.4 rc4. Autodetection works too! Woot!
