Description Dennis Schridde 2006-11-18 02:14:07 UTC
I created a patch for pflogsumm to add metalog compatibility. (Attached)

I have to warn you:
I am quite new to regexps, so this might not be elegant.
Also I have next to no knowledge of Perl, so this might include a bug.
Please review it thoroughly!

Dennis, have you tried sending it to the author of pflogsumm first? It would be more beneficial for everyone if the metalog compatibility would be available for any users, regardless of their Linux distribution.
Comment 3 Dennis Schridde 2006-11-19 12:02:58 UTC
That would be my usual way of thinking, too. But it seemed to me that pflogsumm is abandoned since a while (last entry in the ChangeLog is from 2003). I'll use the contact form on his website, maybe he responds...

It is not abandoned, I had its author reply to me via e-mail just about a month ago. He complained about lack of time he can devote to pflogsumm, though.

Ticho was retired (#59986), reassigning remaining bugs to the herd.

There was any feedback? If so please re-open this bugreport.

Searched my mail folders again and can not find something that seems to relate to pflogsumm. So it seems there was no reply by the author and pflogsumm is really abandoned.
Does this mean the patch will be included in the ebuild directly? Or will you completely drop it now?

Reopening to draw attention to the last line:

Any news about this ticket? Does net-mail still maintain this package? Please set to m-n, if not.
Comment 11 Tomáš Mózes 2019-11-07 05:03:02 UTC
This patch cannot be applied to 1.1.5. Closing for now.

If anyone is interested, try with version 1.1.5 and I'll happily merge it.
