Description Mark Purtill 2006-11-16 20:36:54 UTC
When running with 3d accelleration turned on using xorg-server-1.1.99.902 with xf86-video-mga-1.4.4 on a Matrox G450, running glxinfo crashes the X server, leaving the computer in a state the only rebooting can recover from. (I don't have another computer I could use to log in to it via the network, so I can't tell the exact state.) Oddly, some 3d programs (such as glxgears) work fine.

I will attach my xorg.conf and the X log file.

Log file

I cut off thousands of lines "(EE) MGA(0): [dri] Idle timed out, resetting engine..." at the end of the file; otherwise it was too large to upload.

Note that before all the those lines, there's a crash trace back, reproduced here:

This looks very similar to https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8666, though the traceback happening beforehand may make this different.

Please file a new bug at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ and reference the link I gave above. Post the link here when you're done. Thanks!
