My mother language is Turkish, and I know English as well; but The Localisation Guides are published on the doc site are in Deutsch and Czech. I need an English one. Then, I can read, understand and apply it to my system. Also I can translate it into Turkish. Please, provide an English version of The Localisation Guide, describing the localisation process for at least few languages. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.
posted an email on the -docs mailing list about this
please read my translation and make corrections/suggestions.
Created attachment 8321 [details] xml file of english translation
Created attachment 8322 [details] html file of translation html file for those xmlly-impaired
as someone noted to me, this is not stricly a translation. i changed the suggested value of CLOCK in the second chapter and pretty much re-wrote the first section of the 7th chapter on X fonts. also, yes, /usr/share/zoninfo should be /usr/share/zoneinfo.
Do you think to move the guide to user doc site? (Thanks for the job.)
Added to cvs.
Ken, please review this guide ASAP and report back to me. Apparently, this guide is much better than the translation on the site right now - let me know
Updated with this version of the document.
Where is the new one? http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/guide-localization.xml ?? It's written: Updated $Date: 2002/11/18 14:40:50 $
I checked it in last night, and as far as I can tell, the time stamp on the file I checked in is : Mar 2 19:42 2003. So I don't know why it hasn't gone live on the site yet. I'll go ask about it though. Sorry for any trouble.
