Upstream has released a new version of fxscintilla quite some time ago. This drops support for x11-libs/fox-1.0*. As the the respective fox ebuilds will go away anyway (see bug #145046 for full details), i've introduced fxscintilla-1.71 to the tree, building against fox-1.2*, fox-1.4* and fox-1.6* So please give the ebuild a go and tell me what broke (nothing on ppc, that wasn't broken anyway...)

Can you paste emerge --info along with the output of emerge -pv =fox-1.2.18-r1 and ls -al /usr/include/fox-1.2/fx.h ? The check just covers fx.h in the above dir. It should be installed by your current fox-1.2.18-r1.

Arghh, sorry - my hostnames were messed up when SSH'd from the outside. Thats the wrong machine (which I've actually just confirmed the build does work on now, but didn't yesterday). It still doesn't work on the laptop (where it originally didn't work), but its missing the /usr/include/fox-1.2/fx.h file. I'm recompiling fox-1.2.18-r1 right now to see if it creates that file and then lets me install. Will get back to you as soon as its finished.

The /usr/includes/fox-1.2 directory now has the fx.h file in there, so that must have been the problem. Thanks for the help.
amd64 and sparc are both keyworded, but I am keeping the CC for sparc and adding this as a blocker for bug 158550 pending further investigation. I have package.mask'ed' this for sparc until we understand what is going on with the dependent bug.
