Comment 1 Thomas Cort (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-10-29 06:22:40 UTC
The current stable dev-dotnet/pnet fails to compile with gcc-4.1. This is fixed in pnet-0.7.4 which has been in the tree with no bugs reported for almost 3 months. The other 0.7.4 Portable.NET packages should also be marked stable. Here is the list:

dev-dotnet/pnet-0.7.4
dev-dotnet/pnetlib-0.7.4
dev-dotnet/pnetc-0.7.4
dev-dotnet/ml-pnet-0.7.4

Note: the previous ebuild maintainer didn't follow the keywording policy. I'd like to take this opportunity to fix that. If the packages don't build/work on your arch or if you don't want these packages keyworded, please drop the keyword for your arch from all ebuilds (or ask me to do it), remove your arch from the CC, and leave a little comment.

Thanks!
Comment 2 Markus Meier gentoo-dev 2006-10-29 13:50:32 UTC
pnet-0.7.4:
1. emerges on x86, please note:
QA Notice: the following files contain executable stacks
Files with executable stacks will not work properly (or at all!)
on some architectures/operating systems. A bug should be filed
at http://bugs.gentoo.org/ to make sure the file is fixed.
 For more information, see http://hardened.gentoo.org/gnu-stack.xml
Please include this file in your report:
 /var/tmp/portage/pnet-0.7.4/temp/scanelf-execstack.log
RWX --- --- usr/bin/ilrun
RWX --- --- usr/bin/ilverify

2. passes collision test
3. passes test suite

pnetlib-0.7.4:
1. emerges on x86
2. passes collision test
3. passes test suite

pnetc-0.7.4:
1. emerges on x86
2. passes collision test

ml-pnet-0.7.4:
1. emerges on x86
2. passes collision test

I have no idea how to test this...

tested and marked ppc:
dev-dotnet/pnet-0.7.4
dev-dotnet/pnetlib-0.7.4
dev-dotnet/pnetc-0.7.4

build but not tested:
dev-dotnet/ml-pnet-0.7.4
Got a test case for us that will satisfy you that it functions as it should if it passes the test?

if someone really wants ml-pnet on ppc and can test it or has a test case he/she can add us back.
Comment 9 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-01-19 07:57:16 UTC
dev-dotnet/pnet{,c,lib}-0.7.4 marked stable for HPPA.

pnetlib failed the test suite (with a segfault) in TestAsyncCallWithObjects. Build log to follow shortly.

dev-dotnet/ml-pnet-0.7.4 fails to build (expect an attachment to arrive shortly, exhibiting an argument list that is too long).

pnetlib / HPPA - test failure
Comment 12 Jeroen Roovers (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-02-17 09:09:32 UTC
Stable I guess. Removed keywording for ml-pnet, kept the other packages for HPPA.
Comment 13 Raúl Porcel (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-03-27 14:10:55 UTC
ia64 stable
Comment 14 Samuli Suominen (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-04-16 13:31:19 UTC
These are left to close this bug,

dev-dotnet/pnetc-0.7.4 arm
dev-dotnet/pnetlib-0.7.4 arm
dev-dotnet/ml-pnet-0.7.4.arm

as dev-dotnet/pnet-0.7.4 itself is allready stable on arm.
Comment 15 Jakub Moc (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2007-08-22 18:33:38 UTC
Been already done, no ChangeLog entry, noone removed arm from this bug. Sigh.
