Description dawe 2006-10-23 03:13:58 UTC
After a brand new Gentoo installation on my ia64 machines, I see that some apps (notably R and mysql) give messages like this:
mysql(9336): unaligned access to 0x60000fffff541dba, ip=0x2000000000c91ec1
while I read I should not be alarmed by this, it is annoying that mysql gives the message to STDOUT.

Solved with mysql-5.0.26 in place of mysql-5.0.24.
Comment 2 dawe 2006-10-25 02:35:09 UTC
Sorry to all, this is a bad posted bug. Not necessarily related to ia64 system but maybe to applications themselves.

Yea, it's a bug with the apps. The newer mysql should be stabled on ia64 in a few weeks, as for R -- if there's a new version which fixes the warnings please do let us know. Thanks.
