Description lou 2006-10-22 13:41:40 UTC
Hello All

I'm running into a problem with GROUP BYs and DISTINCT handling. Googling around I found that this is a bug with mysql-4.1.21 and they released a patch. I don't believe this patch is included with the current ebuild for 4.1.21.

Here is bug information:

I think they released it on 8/17. Looking at changelog ebuild, I see the last changelog at Aug 2 for this version of Mysql

02 Aug 2006; Luca Longinotti <chtekk@gentoo.org> +mysql-4.1.21.ebuild:
Version bump, fix security bug #142429.

Apparently this is fixed for 4.1.22 and is unaffected in 4.1.20, but either of these two versions are in portage. Can we get this patch included, or can we have 4.1.22 available?

Thanks much!!!

Duplicate. Please search in future.

4.1.22 isn't available yet.
4.1.20 has other problems.
And the patch for this issue depends on other 4.1.22 changes :-(

Ergo, the only viable option is the workaround documented by upstream.
