This is now in the sunrise overlay. You can find it at: http://gentoo-sunrise.org/svn/reviewed/gnome-extra/gnomescan
0.4.0.4 has been released: http://www.gnome.org/projects/gnome-scan/download
(In reply to comment #1) > Created an attachment (id=98464) [edit] > gnomescan-0.2.3.ebuild > Haven't tried 0.2.3, but 0.4.0.4 doesn't work here at all. Trying to read an image using it results in a black picture (which is sort of understandable as it doesn't even make the scanner head move). Currently using the following packages (dependencies) : x11-libs/gtk+-2.10.11 media-gfx/sane-backends-1.0.18-r2 dev-libs/glib-2.12.11 gnome-base/libgnome-2.16.0 gnome-base/libgnomeui-2.16.1 x11-libs/cairo-1.4.4 app-text/scrollkeeper-0.3.14-r2 media-gfx/gimp-2.3.16

Created attachment 123217 [details] gnome-extra/gnome-scan-0.5.1.ebuild Gah, sorry. The package is now "gnome-scan" and I searched for that...
gnome-scan now depends on media-libs/bebl (http://bugs.gentoo.org/183423) and media-libs/gegl (http://bugs.gentoo.org/183425)
gnomescan-0.6 is out: http://ftp.acc.umu.se/pub/GNOME/sources/gnome-scan/0.6/
