Description Kaiting Chen 2006-09-29 15:35:12 UTC
There are a lot of ebuilds in Portage that provide a java vm. Like sablevm or jamvm, but none of these provide the jre virtual package and cant be used with the "java" command.

We're still a bit understaffed, so this ends up being a bit of a low priority. I recommend opening a new bug for each package that could provide java, and make it block this bug.... preferably with patches.

this bug is very old and the specified VM have been removed from the tree. I have had a look thought the tree and cannot see any VMs which are not in appropriate virtual, can this bug be closed?

Closing. No need for a tracker anyway. Thanks.
