I tried to emerge snd-aoa-060705 on my powermac G5(old model) running gentoo ppc64 with kernel-2.6.18, but faild with compilation errors:

Please use the in kernel snd-aoa module or alsa-drivers with 2.6.18.  It's been accepted upstream, there's no need to keep using old snapshots of snd-aoa.  I'll check with the ALSA maintainers first, but I'll probably mask this for removal.

Thank you. Solved by using kernel's aoa sound driver.
